Teaching aims : Students will know the differences between biological and technical sensors for acquiring and processing images.
Students will know the steps of image processing.
They will know and be able to use standard algorithms for typical problems in the areas of filtering, distinguishing features, segmenting.

• The eye as a signal processing system
• Brain-eye mechanism: Phenomena of perception
• Technical sensors for image acquisition, image acquisition systems
• Digitalisation, quantisation, storage
• Grey-scale value modification
• Location range tools
• Segmentation and image characteristics
