The students recognize the importance of mathematics for computer science and enhance their ability to apply mathematical concepts to concrete problems in computer science.
They are familiar with mathematical ways of thinking, particularly abstraction, precision, logical reasoning, and argumentation.
They have acquired the language of mathematical formulas.
They are familiar with abstract concepts such as relations, equivalence classes, injectivity, and surjectivity.
They can independently solve the following types of problems:
- Modeling problems using the concept of sets
- Applying modular arithmetic
- Modeling problems using the concept of functions
- Sets and set operations
- Relations (equivalence relations and classes)
- Modular arithmetic, divisibility, prime numbers
- Functions (injective, surjective, bijective functions, inverse function, composition of functions)
- Convergence of sequences
