Teaching aims : | Students will be familiar with the architecture and structural principals of different computer systems and will be able to structure them within an evaluation matrix. They will have mastered the fundamentals of applying parallelism and attendant structural and functional rules and will be able to apply spatial and chronological parallelism to computers. They will also have a general overview enabling them to gauge current and future developments. | ||
Contents : | Classification of computer systems, types and levels of parallelism in computer systems, system reliability, measuring and evaluating performance, special forms of semi-conductor memory, concepts of storage and message-based processor coupling, features of different connection topologies, estimating performance of future technologies | ||
