Overall grade consists of grade on essay (2/3) and colloquium (1/3). 
Teaching aims : Students are introduced to the application of methods from different areas of informatics in autonomous mobile systems. They are introduced to the practical application of knowledge attained and the interaction between theory and practice using the example of a mobile robot (Pioneer 2 and 3 amongst others). 
Contents :

• Components of autonomous mobile systems, actuators and sensors
• Image acquisition and processing by mobile systems
• Navigation and planning methods and devices
• Selected algorithms to determine features, recognize and follow objects
• Integrating AI and image processing algorithms
• Group work: Handling an application scenario, for example navigating, finding and transporting an object flagged with a certain colour using a mobile robot
