Teaching aims : The students can create own Cloud Services as well as use Cloud Services in their software and mitigate consequences that arise from provision as well as consumption of cloud services.
The students have a sufficient knowledge of current leading hyperscalers and their portfolios and are able to compare their services to each other. They furthermore understand the challenges in providing cloud services based on ordinary data-center infrastructure and can evaluate different deployment strategies based on the requirement of a software product.
The students have a good understanding of QoS parameters especially for cloud services. They know concepts like availability measurement and strategies to improve availability, scalability, elasticity and disaster recovery of a service.
Contents :

The lecture covers a broad range of topics in cloud computing. In particular, we will explore what makes a cloud computing service different from other types of software, what differentiates the various types of cloud services available today, and how the different services interact with one another. We will also discuss how to choose the right cloud service for given requirements and how to migrate existing applications to the cloud.
Cloud service provision as well as cloud service consumption is done in practice.
The lecture will include topics in cloud computing such as virtualization/containerization, API management, application performance management (APM), fault tolerance, identity and access management (IAM) cloud pricing, and the future of cloud computing.
